Welcome to CAPSLE

CAPSLE is a national organization whose aim is to provide an open forum for the practical study of legal issues related to and affecting the education system and its stakeholders. Our members include teachers, administrators, board members, trustees, unions, school board associations, educators, academics, students, government and lawyers.

We held our 2014 national conference and annual general meeting at the end of April in Kelowna on the theme of “Peaks & Valleys: Perspectives on Law and Education.”  Our 2016 Conference, to be held May 1 – 3, 2016 at the Delta Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, will focus on “Bright Lights on Emerging Issues in Education Law.”

Aside from the annual conference and AGM, another significant initiative for CAPSLE is the CAPSLE Fellowship. The fellowship is given to one student per year enrolled in a faculty of law or a graduate school of education or related discipline at a Canadian university. Find out if you are eligible.  CAPSLE also is pleased to provide the program “Grant in Aid of Publication” – Find out more

CAPSLE also produces a quarterly newsletterCAPSLE Comments, which CAPSLE members receive as a benefit of membership. However, we are now publishing selected back issues online one year after their initial publication.
